Switch your Wi-Fi billing to Shumnet
Moving a live Wi-Fi business takes preparation. Confirm the equipment, payment arrangement and customer access before changing the live portal. Existing vouchers and paid sessions are not automatically transferable.
Prepare an installation assessment
- List each access-point model, hardware version, firmware and current controller.
- Describe the internet connection and the locations you need to serve.
- List your packages, voucher arrangements, remaining paid access and payment settlement process.
- Record the reports and exports you need to retain; exclude passwords and private keys from ordinary enquiries.
Preserve existing obligations
Export the records your current provider permits you to export. Keep the original reports for accounting and resolve unsettled payments with that provider. Customer data should be handled only with the appropriate permission.
Discuss unexpired access and vouchers before the switch. Do not assume codes, payment tokens, saved sessions or customer credentials can be imported. Agree how existing customers will be served and informed.
Test before the cutover
Use a separate test setup or a controlled maintenance window. Register with Shumnet, confirm the equipment, configure the portal and complete a real purchase or voucher redemption.
Check authorization, duration, device allowance, expiry, reconnection and the recorded sale. Keep a documented way to restore the previous configuration if the pilot fails.
Open the new service deliberately
Schedule the change when disruption is lowest. Communicate the new login instructions, packages and support contact to customers. Watch the first purchases and check that payments match access.
A migration assessment is the first step; it is not a promise of zero downtime or automatic data import. Contact Shumnet with your setup and the date you are considering.
Common questions
Will old vouchers work automatically?
Do not assume so. Agree how remaining vouchers and paid access will be handled before changing the portal.
Can I keep my equipment?
That depends on the exact hardware, firmware and controller. Send the device list for compatibility assessment.
Should I cancel my old service first?
Complete the assessment and a successful pilot before arranging cancellation or changing the live service.
